The Fabric Swatch Keep

Regular price $95.00

A brass-and-glass keepsake set for the textures of the day — the dress, the linens, the ribbon from the bouquet.

Touch fades second. After smell, after sound, after the specific quality of light in the room — touch is the next thing you lose. The weight of the dress against your legs. The stiffness of the invitation card in your hand. The softness of the ribbon your florist tied around the bouquet at 6am, before anyone else was awake.

You won't remember these textures in ten years. Not exactly. Not the way they actually felt.

Unless you keep them.

The Fabric Swatch Keep is a brass-and-glass hinged box —  with a warm antique patina that deepens over time — holding a linen-bound booklet with brass pin fasteners. Each page is a place for a swatch: a piece of the dress, a swatch of the table linen, the ribbon, the veil, the pocket square, the bridesmaid dress colors. The swatches are pinned in, visible through the glass lid, preserved the way a museum preserves textiles — under glass, untouched, kept.

You don't have to fill it all on the wedding day. Some brides fill the first few pages the week after the wedding and add swatches over the years — fabric from the christening dress, a piece of the blanket from the first apartment, a swatch from the curtains in the house where the kids grew up. The booklet has room for all of it.

Twenty years from now, you'll open the brass clasp, lift the glass lid, and run your fingers across the fabric of a day you can barely remember. And you'll feel it again. Not the memory of it. The actual texture.
