The Mother's-Dress Pochette
Her dress has been waiting in a closet for this.
The Mother's-Dress Pochette is sewn in our Louisiana studio from a piece of your mother's — or grandmother's — wedding gown. Softly structured in the furoshiki tradition of our original pochette, with hand-sewn, thoughtfully tied handles — and stitched inside, the same antiqued brass tag we hand-stamp for the Mariée, carrying her wedding date. Carried by you on the morning of. Kept by your family for another generation.
How the commission works: when you order, we mail you our memory kit — a rigid keepsake mailer, simple instructions, and a prepaid, insured return label. You (or your seamstress) cut a 25" × 25" piece and send it to us. We never cut the dress itself. Your fabric is photographed the moment it arrives, stabilized by hand — satin, lace, and thirty-year-old chiffon each ask for different care — and sewn into the pochette she'll cry about. Every commission includes before-and-after photographs. Satin, lace, chiffon, and blends all welcome; if a fabric needs a conversation, we'll have it before anything is cut.
Prefer it ready-made? The same pochette, hand-tied in our studio from one continuous piece of our bonded lace — blush, ivory, black, or seafoam — ships now, and arrives in its own keepsake velvet dust bag.
The commission is made to order. The memory kit and insured round-trip shipping — to you, back to us, and home again — are included.
